California and home

Of course, saw the elk at Prarie Creek

Spent the night at Redwood Coast Cabins and RV Park near Eureka

We went to the Samoa Cook House for breakfast

Drove around the historic district in Eureka

And then we meandered down the Avenue of the Giants

The lovely Giants

The Julia Morgan memorial fireplaces in the Women's Grove

And nearing the end of our 12 day, 1600 mile trip

Meandering down the Oregon Coast

First stop Tillamook Cheese

First camp on the coast in Cannon Beach at Sea Ranch Campground and Stables

And the famous haystack rocks and Needles

Wow, a steam locomotive

A stop at Yaquina Head and the interpretive center and lighthouse near Newport.

Camped near Florencs at Tahkenitch, a US Forest Service campground.  First time I have seen the tentsiles (a tent that hangs between trees) check them out on line...

On past Cape Blanco

And on past the Brookings Fire....air filled with smoke....and back into California

Mt. St.Helens and over to Oysterville, Washington

We left Madras and our old and new friends behind and headed to Mt. St. Helens.  We camped at Seaquest State Park for two days where we met up with Suzanne.

Mt. St. Helens from the observatory

A glacier has formed in and around the bulge in the crater

Then we head west to Oysterville on the Washington coast.

Must buy some oysters to take home

And visit Jim and Nick

And walk on the beach

Lunch in Ilwaco at black lake before we leave Washinton
