This was an amazing day!! Yesterday we rented a car for 3 days and decided we would head up to Honolua Bay and Napili today.
However, first we wanted to snorkel right off the condo and Yea!!!! We swam with 5 turtles.
We then got our things together and headed up the west side of the island
We met some people who said that after last nights pouring rain and wind it was too rough for snorkeling, but we still headed down to the beach through a beautiful tropical forest.
The beach ahead
Yep, too rough to snorkel, but there were lots of surfers out by the point and a sailboat ready to weigh anchor and leave because of incoming swells and wind.
Well, we headed down to Napili and had lunch at the Gazebo and were treated to at least 4 whales frolicking and putting on a show!! After lunch we went to Honokeana Cove which is a tiny, protected cove just south of Napili Bay that Barbara was familiar with. It was gorgeous and it was the only place we saw today that had calm, clear water. We sat and watched at least six turtles swimming around and feeding. It doesn't look like an easy entry, but we might try it another day. What a day!!!!!!! We stopped and got opah (sun fish) to grill for dinner and had that and grilled pineapple with rice. Could we ask for anything more?........Yep!
