The Lake District here we come

We left Marco and Claudia's at 10am.  The first new sight I saw were two Andean Ibis! ...beautiful, big birds.   We traveled auxiliary roads south toward the beginning of the lakes district.  For those of you following on a map, we finally reached Ruta 5 in Temuco and soon afterwards turned off toward Villarrica Lago.  The trailer is pulling well and Rob is pleased.  As we approach the area we see...
Villarrica volcano

We fine ourselves a great camping place.

A lovely spot with a flock of parakeets in the canopy.  They are very noisy as they fly amongst the trees.  They are either Austral Parakeets (Cachana at 14 inches) or Slender-billed Parakeets (Choray at 15-17 inches)
We even have a swimming pool down a dirt road with no signs to show the way....

It is big!! ....to give some perspective, that is Rob on the left.

Our campground is near Pucon and from town we get a better view of the volcano with steam coming out of it.

What do you think....Dahlias and other flowers along the road

Look closely....they are made of wood!!!

I almost forgot, I had two new drinks yesterday...first we bought a huge container of raspberries and then got some Lonco Leche (kind of like kefir).  We filled tall glasses 3/4 with raspberries and added some Lonco Leche and stirred it up......raspberry milkshakes.  Last night Rob made me a Milo, which is a warm drink they drink a lot in Asia.  He mixed dried milk with powdered malt and added hot water. Yumm, a perfect evening drink!
