The long road back to the casita

On the road again....goal today is to go to a little town called Combarbala where the national stone of Chile is found......combarbaita.  Rob and Deirdre brought me some beautiful earrings there years ago and I wanted another pair.

I found another pair of green earrings!!!!!!  And we found a little place where we got the meal of the day (comida corrida) old Adobe and crooked beams, but a flat screen TV.  We had a great lunch...first a salad...steamed narrow strips of onion, cold and in a pile with a tomato slice on top, several slices of cold potato, canned green beans, and a slice of lemon.  We squeezed the lemon on top of it all and it was delicious believe it or not.  Then came goat meat and rice with carrots.  Great meal!

We decided to go back to the casita to sleep.

We drove past the Dulce sellers along the road near La Ligula.  We didn't stop to indulge this time.

Back to the coast..

   ....long, long drive....especially because we took a wrong turn and went through Valparaiso.

We drove 1150 km today.  Quite a contrast to yesterday!
